  1. The particulars of its organization, functions and duties

    The Electricity Ombudsman derives its functions and powers from the Regulation no. HERC/08/2004 (Terms & Conditions of service of Electricity Ombudsman and officer and the Staff of the office of Electricity Ombudsman).

  2. The powers and duties of its officers and employees

    An Electrical Engineer and other staff assists the Electricity Ombudsman in discharging its function and duties.

  3. The procedure followed in the decision-making process including channels of supervision and accountability

    The procedures followed in the decision making process are derived from Regulation no. HERC/08/2004 (Terms & Conditions of service of Electricity Ombudsman and officer and the Staff of the office of Electricity Ombudsman).

  4. The norms set by it for the discharge of its functions

    The norms under which the Electricity Ombudsman functions are specified in the Regulation No. HERC/08/2004.

  5. The rules, regulations, instructions, manuals and records, held by it or under its control or used by its employees for discharging its function.

    The O/o Electricity Ombudsman receives the appeals from the aggrieved parties and thereafter Electricity Ombudsman fixes the hearings for the appeals and pronounces the orders on the basis of the merits of the case. The orders pronounced by the Electricity Ombudsman are kept in record.


  6. A statement of the categories of documents that are held by it or under its control

    The office keeps original appeals filed by different consumers and orders passed by the Electricity Ombudsman in a safe custody.


  7. The particulars of any arrangements that exists for consultation with, or representation by, the members of the public in relation to the formulation of its policy or implementation thereof

    After receiving the appeals the Electricity Ombudsman gives hearing to the parties concerned and there after passes his orders.

A statement of the boards, counsels, committees and other bodies consisting of two or more persons constituted as its part or for the purpose of its advice, and as to whether meetings of those boards, councils, committees and other bodies are open to the public, or the minutes of such meetings are accessible for public

    The budget is provided by the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission/ by the State Government and is charged to the consolidated fund of the state.
